Since some people are getting these releases early and are using AnyDVD, it would be very appreciative if you would at least post the AnyDVD log so we know what type of protections are on these releases.
I wish people would stop saying stuff like backed up using AnyDVD+DVD Shrink. Keep in mind that some people don't have AnyDVD and don't plan on getting it, so it would be nice to at least know what type of copy protection is on these releases. I'm not trying to start an argument here. It would just be helpful information to everyone.

I totally agree. I'm an AnyDVD user and I agree it's unfair to say that a backup is easy. Of course it is, it's AnyDVD! lol Seriously, the AnyDVD log is great because it lists everything that needs to be overcome.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Daman1: when I tried Casanova with DVDshrink, it analized fine, then just stopped before encoding, so I am not sure what the problem was. I didn't think to try shrink with AnyDVD though. Normally if shrink fails for me, I use clone(which I hate because it takes forever.....compared to shrink, but if I want the movie I am forced to use it).
There didn't seem to be any issues with Aeon flux.

I am having my own problems with casanova myself.
As buffster said, shrink cant encode the movie. So I tried AnyDVD but just a min into it, a read error pops up. Clonell-clonelll also cannot get past 7% with out erroring. Dvd decrypt seems to get it to the hard drive fine. But when i try to open the files in shrink, there is no compaitable files in there for shrink to open, I dont know if i am using decrpyt wrong or what, I select file when decrpyting the movie.

@ buffster
I was able to make a backup of Casanova using shrink.
I had AnyDVD running and opened DVD Shrink.
After the Shrink I ran DVDFab then burned with Nero 6
I don't understand why Shrink will not work if you have AnyDVD.
Now Tristan & Isolde worked fine but couldn't put 5.1 in it unless I was going to burn to a DVD-9

No Idea why...but I have Clone/anydvd and that worked for me. I think when I put Casenoa into DVD Shrink it stalled after anyalizing, thats when I decided to use Clone. It doesn;t matter to me which program works as long as one of them does.

If it won't burn past a certain point you have other problems. Start a new thread and post exactly the software you're using, what you did and what happened. Indicate the brand name, type, and speed of the media you're using. Indicate the name and model number of your DVD burner. If you're using Nero, post the last section of the Nero burn log that begins with your name and your serial number (delete these before posting) that is located in this path:
Program Files -> Ahead -> Nero -> NeroHistory

alt, see the "Start a New Thread" button, just click that and then put in your post the problem and the information I requested you post. This way everyone has a chance to see your post and respond. Currently, someone has to patrol through this unrelated post to see that you have a problem, which is not going to happen.

Here is my tale. I ran Casanova through DVD Decrypter using the guides on bbmayo, doing the main movie and ifo's. Mode file F. It ran fine and copied the files to the HD. I then open Shrink and try and Reauthor and no files come up. There are files on the HD but nothing to reauthor. My Any DVD just ran out and I need to get funds to buy the code, so I'm without AnyDVD right now. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Rip your file using decrypter in main movie + ifo. Then open Shrink
Browse for your file and open the VIDEO_TS folder, open that
Drag and drop your title which comes up over to your compilation screen and hit backup
I am not sure what protection is on Cassanova but you might be better just ripping with the free DVDFab Decrypter and then opening Shrink and choosing what you want.
