do you think the ps3 is powerfull enough to emulate this home consoles .
xbox,game cube ,sega dreamcast.
i mean looks like the psp could emulate the n-64 someone day maybe?
anyways if ps3 can emulate sega dreamcast would be so awesome. also im sure theres going to be nes, nes, genesis ect emulator's for ps3 in no time.
remenber the ps3 has a 60gb hard drive and it runs linux.
the question is not if it will be powerful enough (which it will be much more than enough) it is a question of how long it would take to code something like that on a brand new system. Nobody will be able to emulate stuff for the PS3 until they can figure out a way for the system to understand emulators first.

And he is totaly right.uhm.. ya so "mudearies", i would have to say it is very posibble that the ps3 will be able to emulate xbox, game cube ,sega dreamcast and possibly even more consoles.

yep but the ps3 will have firmware like psp ,good thing beacuase it will get better in time like psp, but they will try to stop homebrew with the new firmwares. good thing im going to pre-order mine and i hope i dont have to do nothing to my ps3 to play nes, nes, genesis roms on it.
im tired of playin damn games on my pc with the keyboard its so uncomfortable.

You can get a controller for your PC, if that's the case.

I'm currently playing NES and Genesis Roms on my PS2, with my Dual Shock 2 controllers and most of them run smoothly. If you do a little research, you could find how to put many roms in a CD-R (most of the just take a few kb's) and boot it in your PS2.
But remember you should have the original games, only thing that kept me from filling those CD-R's. My point is that runing classic games in the PS3 might take a while, maybe not, so there's no point in waiting until the PS3 arrives to enjoy classic games.
