Hi!

My internet connection is via a university network system. I want to download media files but there is something preventing Kazaa from working on it - we assume its a firewall. I'm currently using ShareScan, but the contents are limited to the network and it crashes itself regularly ie every five minutes!

Does anyone know any other download programs that will work around this problem?

try direct connect and set it to passive mode in the options this bypasses your firewall if that is the problem

okay, sounds great - how do i do that? there isnt a button for "passive mode" in the options!

(yes, im not really a computer whizz. dumbass instructions required please!)

click setting then click conection
near the bottom of the settings wind ow there should be an option that say use direct connect in passive mode. select this then press ok

that should now work otherwise download dc++ from http://dcplusplus.soundforge.net this seems to work in active mode even with a firewall in place
