Yup, good stuff! I've burned a stack of 50 (blue & "gold") at 2X on my Pioneer 104 & 105 (hacked firmware on both) with the latest NeroBurning w/o 1 coaster! Good luck!

Hello
I have used about 20 of a 50 spindle of Optodisc DVD-RW and no real problems. Five of them burned only for minute and failed but after using Roxio 6 disc erase, the discs were fine. The quality I might question, the playback is fine but the disc write surface for these is silverish not purple. So I don't know how they will hold up in the long term. I would recomend RW over R as any reliable problem will not cost you the disc.

jinino,
Try here: http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/#PIONEER_DVR_IDE

H hacked firmware can be found just about anywhere. Be sure to use the ( 2X4 ) ver. 1.4 for the 104 and the 1.3 for the 105. Good Luck!

BTW, I only use the latest version of Nero Burning and swear by it! :-)

I bought 2 50 packs or Optodisk -RW 1x, at different times, they were different from each other but I got nearly 100% reliability on both spindles using my Sony DRU-500a burner (2.0f firmware). The few that didn't burn worked on the 2nd try after re-formatting.

Works great on my Pioneer 105 and very cheap. I got mine for $.85 per disc from precisioncddvd.com!

sk - did you burn movies on those?

I'm using DVDecrypter ---> DVD2one ---> Nero 5.5x

I'm assuming these are the ones you're referring to. http://precisioncddvd.com/50packdvdr.html

Can someone please give me some insight on these dics? Don't want coasters. Thanks in advance.

Update on the 50 pack spindle. I have now used all 50 discs and 10 were bad. This wasn't a software issue, the discs actually didn't work. But overall not too bad with 40 out of 50 ok and using DVD-RW had the flexability of correcting 8 burns which were software errors.

I've used about 200 of these discs (as well as Samsungs) and found that the blue Optodisc far outperformed the gold discs. I have 0 coasters with the blue, but about 70% failure with the gold.

thru my first 50 pack of blue optodiscs...i had 3 coasters... Its obvious some of the blue ones have deformities on the recording surface.
