In future before encoding with tmpgenc, do the following with VirtualDUB

1. Open the avi in virtualdub
2. click video - direct stream copy
3. click audio - full processing mode
4. click audio - compression and click no compression pcm, click ok.
5. click file - save avi!

Now use the file you save with TMPGEnc!

you can also open the avi file in VirtualDub, and then use the 'Save WAV...' option. After that you just need to load the movie in TMPGEnc and then load the new WAV file and encode them...

Not recommended. It causes out of sync problems on some computers! The method i showed has a 100% success rate so far!

Yep delete it cause even trying to get the audio from the avi and add it to the mpeg would just be out of sync!!

ok so I did what you said dela. I d/l VirtualDUB, did what you said step by step. So now I just save I dont have to run the .avi in the program to let those settings take effect? or do they take effect and correct the problem just by saving?

ok so what did this exactly do to the .avi? I know it corrected it or whatever but what did it do...the file is bigger now too. did it make the audio better?

The audio was decompressed so that explains the rise in filesize! With uncompressed audio, you shouldnt have any problems with TMPGEnc.

running the .avi through VirtualDUB made the converting process seem to speed up also!

dela another question regarding the same .avi, when I started the conversion of the .avi the size of it was 1.22gb and when it was done converting the size changed to 578mb. Whats up with that?? How did it get smaller? Did it have to do with the fact that I ran it through virtualdub first?

Well an avi with uncompressed audio would be bigger than the output mpeg usually!!
