hi----I think this topic would go here..please move it if it doesn't.

OK, so I've been editing AVI clips in Pinnacle studio 9 for at least a year, and I've had an issue with the footage skipping after a while, so I switched to just using Windows Movie Maker because it's a really simple project for school that I need in a couple weeks. But now the audio and the video clips are skipping there too, and there is only 40 seconds of video so far...is this an internal problem with my ram or something...or does anyone know of a way to fix whats going on???

the clips are being stored on a usb external hard drive..that might be an issue, i don't know...

any help would be appreciated, or if there is a thread already addressing this that would be good too...
