Ok so I downloaded MyPS2 1.2 and put on my USB Pen Drive. Well everything goes good when I boot it, up untill I get this message: Loading GUI String Table...Failed. If anyone has an answer to how I can get this to work, I would appreciate it. Thanx in advance. Oh yeah I've tried older versions and it's always the same thing, same error message.

make sure you have all the files on your flash drive, plus the 4 folders. It could be a USB issue, that hasnt yet been fixed. As soon as you can try running from your HDD and see if it works.

How would I run it from my HD? Well I put all the files and folders that the download came with into the flash drive, I even included a USB.irx and I still have the same problem. It boots up perfect but fails when trying to load GUI String Table. I am completely lost. I usually figure things out on my own but this is fucking with me. Please help me someone. Thanx in advance.

It would be something to do with USB, usb.irx would have to be on memory card. Get DMS Hdd format tool and use it to create a partition, then use whatever loader program (recommend ulaunchelf) you use copy the files from USB to your partition.

So once I've created the partition and copied the files to the partition how do I load it? Do I load it using HDLoader?

how are you loading it from USB? i thought by having it on USB you might have had the mem card exploit setup. Read up on how to create a memory card exploit using the "independence compiler 4.1" copy the image to hdd and load it with hdloader.

Well I do actually have a MC Exploit. So this is what happened: I created a partion using HDD Format Tool, I have all the files on my USB Pen drive , I load LaunchElf, I go to File browser so that I can copy the files from mass:/MYPS2 and I copy to clipboard but when I paste to the partition I created on the HD the pasting hangs and won't finish pasting. At first I tried the whole MYPS2 folder and right away it started to hang. Then I tried goin' into MYPS2 and copying all the files from with in, well the files that were not within subfolders pasted but when pasting the boot subfolder once again it froze. Could it be due to an old version of LaunchElf that I'm using? I'm sure that once I can copy the files to the partition that I created that it will work but I am having trouble getting them to copy over. And I am not goin' to FTP them over. Well if you have any answers to Y this is happening, help me out. Thanx in advance. Peace.

Dude... I figured it out. Although I wasn't able to load it from my USB Pen Drive. I was able to get it working by doing what you said. But I did have to use the newest version of ULaunch for the copying and pasting of files to work. I was using LaunchElf 3.4 at first. Thanx man I appreciate the help.

Alright... I ran into an issue. MYPS2 is working good it's just that when I choose My Files or My Programs there is no mass: source. Any ideas? Thanx in advance.

I figured out what the problem was. I had to copy the USBD.IRX to mc0:/USBD.IRX. That fixed my problem with not being able to access the mass storage.

irie,

My first question is where are you trying to boot MyPS2 from? (MC, HDD, CD, USB, etc.)

If you're trying to boot MyPS2 from anything other than the HDD than there is no need to mess with the config.dat. But... if you're trying to boot MyPS2 from the HDD then I can already see a problem in your config.dat. There must be a "+" sign in front of the partition name and MyPS2 should be in all caps and after you've finished editing the last line in the config.DAT you should press enter before saving...

here are a couple of links:

http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/showthread.php?t=44699

http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/showthread.php?t=45396

Example:

hdd_boot_part = hdd0:__boot
hdd_boot_path = /myPS2/

Should be:

hdd_boot_part = hdd0:+boot
hdd_boot_path = /MYPS2/

Well I hope the links I provided clear the air. The links I provided is where I learned how to get rid of the dreaded GUI error. Hope this helps :) Also you must sign up to PS2-scene to access the links... Sorry I just tested them and found out. But no worries I suggest you sign up because PS2-Scene is the home of the MyPS2 Forums. There is tons more info. on that site than you'll get here, mainly because there are forums related to specific issues :) Afterdawn still kicks ass tho' :)

Best Regards,

neiljames

escudo11,

Sign up at PS2-Scene and search the forums there. I garuntee someone will give you an answer right away. Also if you search the forums there at PS2-Scene, you're bound to run into a solution to the same problem you're having. After all PS2-Scene is home to MyPS2 forums :D

I'm mostly on the PS2-Scene Forums so if I see your question there I'm more likely to answer. I never use Afterdawn anymore... I found that at PS2-Scene the people are more willing to help and alot more knowledgeable too. Altho' there're quite a few peeps from these forums that helped me learn alot :) [ No Names... You Know Who You Are]

Best Regards,
