I see all the ways to do the MC exploit, but I wanna be sure I have my PS2 geared up to do it.
I have a PS2 (fliptop case) with the 40GB HD, and I use HDadvance, but now that I have lots of back-ups, I wanna be able to play them without having to back them up on the HD.
do I need to get or buy anything else to do the memory card exploit?
all you need to do is make an exploit cd with cogswaploader, with independence compiler 4.1 (google it) and install it to your HDD then run it from HDA and it will install.
Load up your chosin ps1 game and your done.

Yes you can make an exploit cd using independence compiler, install the image to your HDD and load it up with hdadvance. No need for swap magic/modchip.

You dont load a ps1 game to the HDD, you load a CD that installs the right right files to your MC onto it. Use WINHIIP to add the cd image created by independence compiler to your hdd. load it from hda and it will install all the files needed. Now insert your chosen ps1 game and restart your ps2 it should load to boot.elf.

hey Andrew691, you seem to know your stuff, the last question I have is my friend has a regular PS2, and he wants to know if this expliot can be done on his in anyway.
