Trying to backup 28 days later...

I am using clonedvd2 and anydvd and when i try to backup 28 days later anydvd pops up saying failed to read dvd then clonedvd2 says something like ccs error. I have had no troubles with any other movie is there something I can do to fix this or can I just not backup this movie? Any help is appreciated thanks!

are u sure that isnt crc read error. if so then clean the disc and try again. if that doesnt do it then u might have to get a better original. crc errors mean the disc is unreadable, whether due to scratches, bad press, or dirty.u could try ripping with dvddecrypter or dvdfabdecrypter. this video has no extra special protection, i did this one awhile back with no problems.

Well, if AnyDVD fails to read, you're naturally going to get a CSS read error. That's just telling you the backup app has encountered CSS protection on a DVD. Which brings up the question, why isn't AnyDVD reading? Normally as long as the little read fox is on the taskbar, it's working. With some difficult releases the ripper needs to be used. Which brings up another question, what version are you using and why didn't you try the ripper?

I tried cleaning it but that didnt work it is pretty scratched up though. I am VERY new to backing up movies so when you ask what ripper I am using I have no idea what u r talking about lol srry!! I know I have clonedvd2 and AnyDVD also Nero, is there something else I should have? I appreciate the help I really dont know to much as you can tell

DVDInfoPro is good freeware with a bunch of utilities. You can use it to do a read scan to check a disc for bad sectors that can cause a disc not to record. If a disc is badly scratched, that can cause problems. A resurfacing tool like Skip Dr can help with minor scratches. Sometimes a disc is hard to read from the manufacturer, you may hear about bad presses. If I were you, I'd do the read scan before continuing.
