Hello there,
I recently purchased a new DVD/VHS Recorder Combo. I am tring to figure out how I can play a DVD in one of my machines and record it to a DVD-R disc on the DVD Recorder for my own personal viewing? IF there is a way to do this would anyone please give me some advise and help with this? Thank you all very much.

If they are original movies on VHS,then you'll have to have something to take off the Macros encryption. There is a filter you can buy that will do this,but not sure where to get it at. This forum is mainly pc burning. There's another forum called home entertainment that has a room for stand alone tv recorders. More info would be there.

Non encrypted vhs tapes should be a pc of cake-like home videos,tv shows,etc. You'll have to give the manual a good look because tv dvd recorders aren't as easy as VHS. It's a whole new ball game. I think I spent 6 hrs reading my Cyberhome manual just to figure out how to hook it up,editing,and finalize discs.

What's the model# of that combo recorder?

Thank you for the info. The unit I purchased is a Samsung DVD-VR325. I am starting to think I should have invested my money in a DVD burner for my PC. Might have been easier to use and do it that way. Again thank you for the help and info. Have a good weekend.
