This is probably not the appropriate place for this question but dvd rebuilder is my primary back up proggy and I am seeking some advice from experienced users.
I can usually solve most problems I have by trial and error or use of different software etc. but this has got me stumped and I was wondering if anybody else has had similiar problems and a possible solution.
This has happened to all of the last 3 dvd's I have tried to back up. It doesn't matter what software I use to rip the dvd. Result is always the same. It has to be something to do with dvdremake since everything works fine if I don't run the folder through remake. I've even tried processing the folders with vobblanker before running them through remake and after.
Here's what I've got. I am getting errors with every encoding/tramscoding software I try after running the ripped folder through dvdremake, even if I don't edit the folder whatsoever on the last 3 dvd's I have tried to back up. The dvd's are Fun with Dick and Jane, Dominoe, and Good Night and Good Luck. Somehow remake is screwing something up as they won't even play back from my hdd after being run through it (edited or not). The ripped folders play fine from the hdd prior to going through remake.
I've never encountered this before and was wondering if maybe there is some new form of encryption that is messing with remake. I could use dvd rebuilder pro (or dvdclone 2) to edit out the previews and extras I don't want but it won't get rid of the dreaded warning screens that are in the video manager on some dvd's. I could also do movie and menu only but I like to keep some extras on the backup. I am open to suggestions.

Why use remake at all if you're not editing the folders? AFAIK there is no new encryption, remake just has some bugs. If all you're doing is changing a few buttons and removing previews or whatever, I'd stick to using pgcedit and vobblanker.

@Mort81
How's it going buddy? Haven't seen you for a while.
Anyways, I think "Jigen" may be right about the bugs with DVD Remake because I've successfully ripped and backup those with my usual free method "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" and encoded with DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.7 without any issues.
Like always, I have VobBlanker processed my VIDEO_TS.IFO and blank out FBI Warnings, previews/trailers and some useless extras/commentary, etc.

Hi gents,
Quote: Why use remake at all if you're not editing the folders?
Good question. The only reason I tried running the folders through remake without editing was to see if remake was screwing something up or if I was screwing something up by removing some structure. Remake is screwing the folders up but I never had any problems with it prior to these three dvd's.
I did use vobblanker to edit all three af these dvd's without any issues. This really sucks because I've grown to like remake and it's ease of use not to mention I've got $ invested in the utility.
If I continue to have issues with remake on other newly released dvds I will email dimid to see if a fix is in the workings.

If you are using remake pro 340 change back to 314 that was causing me all the problems like yours.

I only use DVDRemake Pro for episode DVDs now.... Usually use DVDRB in Movie only after ripping with DVDDecrypter/FabDecrypter/AnyDVD(rip movie only). I haven't had any problems and wasn't Remake just updated to version 3.4.2 on or about 4/7/06? I did the second season of NYPD Blue, Doogie Howser season 1, & ER season 1 since the update and all came out great. I'm really sorry to hear you're having trouble with Remake! It's a great proggie and I use it for it's ease and for what I want it to do it does! Sorry I can't help you there, but I would contack Dimad to complain and see what they say...... did you try a reinstal? clean registry, defrag and all the other good stuff to keep the computer up with it? it's worth a try!

IHoe,
I emailed dimadsoft and they suggested the same thing. Anyway it's working as usual now. Wonder why I wasn't notified of another update. Must have been a bug in that other vs. Thanks man.

Mort...I don't know but I only use Remake for Episode DVDs now... I only do movie only with RB/CCE when it needs encoding otherwise I switched to AnyDVD + CloneDVD2 for movies that can fit 100%! Still getting movie encoding times of 89-92mins with RB and the episode DVDs run around 135-162mins! I rip with AnyDVD if DVDDecrypter doesn't work for the newer movies. Still happily burning...... regards!!!!!
