problem with freeze frames on DL disc

I have been using dvd decrypter and shrink to decrypt and burn many movies on regular 4.7gb dvd+r discs and have never had a problem playing them on my dvd player. I have now been doing the same on 8.5gb dvd+r DL discs, and have noticed that about 2/3 of the way through the movie, the movie will just freeze. If I fast forward slightly at that point, the movie continues to play normally. Somebody I talked to said the problem is when the disc actually changes layers, and the cause is with the software I am using to burn the discs with which is dvd decrypter. Can somebody please help me rectify this problem.

Couple of things first....what type of DL media (brand) are you using? Also, what burner, model number, and have you updated the firmware? Next, are you still using Shrink to create the iso? If so, I wouldn't recommend it. Just use DVDD to create the iso, then write the iso. But do not choose the iso to burn, choose the mds file that DVDD created, this has all the original info for the DVD such as layer break point.

Thanks for the tip. Just so I understand you correctly, using DVD Decrypter, do I select mode then file, and create a folder of the video_TS with the .bup and .ifo files? Then what do I do next? What is the mds file that you are referring to?
