I note that V2.5 is not capable of playing ISO for the time being. but playing homebrew with the help of a GTA Umd is possible.. Ok my query is abt the game selection. Homebrew games can be from any systems such as Nintendo 64 or gamcube else a xbox? haha. Just my curiousity.

??

Homebrew games are just games that are made for the PSP (but are not made or licensed by Sony).

What do you mean by:

I got this thinking from the post from the main... It seems like they intro putting snes emulator in it. Does this apply to N64 games? What do u mean no licensed by sony? Meaning games not available for the original psp or ps2?

I copy and paste here..
First go to the HOME screen on the PSP,and go to DATE & TIME SETTINGS and put the date a year forward, load up GTA and just save straight away, exit back to the PSP HOME menu and set the year back to its original date, this will stop ELOADER booting up automaticly.

UNCHECK TIFF,
CHECK GTA,
UNCHECK ALL BUT THE REGION YOU BELONG TO,
CHECK DEFAULT MENU.
Start from step 6 for the emulators.

For those who dont have a WINDOWS PC start from STEP 1.

1: Extract all files from ELOADER.ZIP
You will end up with a PSP and a UTILS folder.

2: Copy the UTILS folder to the ROOT MENU of your MEMORY STICK.
(ROOT MENU contains your MP_ROOT and PSP folders.)

3: Click on PSP and it will contain 3 folders:
ELOADER...PHOTO...SAVEDATA

4: Add the ELOADER folder to your PSP,s...PSP folder.

5: Click on SAVEDATA and add the SAVE FOLDER that applies to your region, to your PSP,S...SAVEDATA folder.

SAVES: ULES00182S >GERMAN
ULUS10041S >USA
ULES00151S >ALL OTHERS

6: Download SNES EMU Uo_Snes9x_oo2y32 from http://dl.qj.net/SNES9x-v0.02y32-PSP-Emulators/pg/12/fid/2188/cat...
I find newbie,s can work this EMU with greater ease.
Unzip this and u will end up with one folder with the above name, drop this folder into PSP/GAME folder.

Nearly there!
7: Snes roms here:http://www.emuparadise.org
If you don?t have the original game then don?t download the rom? It?s illegal.
Now drop your snes roms into the PSP/GAME/Uo_Snes9x_oo2y32 folder.
I recommend putting the ROM,s into the actual EMU folder, this way u
dont have to go looking for them.
But some EMU,s require u to put them in a separate folder, it should say so on the read me sent with the EMU.
Note they do not have to be unzipped if they only contain 1 file.
THATS IT!

By games unlicensed by Sony, I mean unofficial games.

I understand your question now. The PSP doesn't have an emulator for all the systems available on the market (as it doesn't have enough proccessing power). There is a Nintendo 64 emulator, but it can't run most commercial games yet.

No, games made by Konami are licensed by Sony (Konami pays Sony in order to license the game, allowing them to produce it). Homebrew games can be made by anyone, even you, they are essentially 'homemade' games.

And no, I don't think you can play Zelda on the PSP yet.

Whats so funny? You can make your own games, and yes from scratch. All the emulators and homebrew games made for the PSP were made from scratch by ordinary people/ small groups of people (and not companies).

For a list of compatible games/apps using the GTA hack go to http://www.fanjita.org .

well yes and no,
a psp does have enough power to run a lot of the games but only if they were ported into umds to be played directly...
however it doesnt have enough resources to some of the emulators which in turn runs the game.

We're a long way away from seeing a good n64 emu for the system. If a good one ever even DOES come out, who knows? It's hard to do that kind of emulation on such a slow processor. I will come out and say right now; there will never be an xbox emu for the psp. Never. The system is not remotely powerful enough, and downgraded emulation for this platform won't happen.

SNES is mostly working, some slowdown, etc. but nothing bad. NES is perfect, and I haven't tried gba yet.

There are a variety of homebrew titles for the system. Games not sold in stores anywhere; generally made by regular people in their homes, with a lot of time on their hands. Most homebrew titles do not have a company name on them, are never sold for profit, and are not available by what would be considered 'traditional' means.

Every game you can buy in a store, and almost every game you can buy online is called 'commercial software'. It has a publisher, a development team, and licensing. Most homebrew has no publishing whatsoever (Hence the reason it's not seen in ANY stores), has only a small development team that does the programming in their spare time for free, at no profit, and they almost NEVER get licensed for any platform. These are what define a homebrew title. They are usually made from scratch by very smart, and vrey bored individuals.
