[bold] I bricked my psp, can anyone help?[/bold]

This is the story, I'll make it short and to the point. Have PSP 2.0 don't want to upgrade to 2.5 or 2.6. My little cousin comes over with his psp and UMD with some dumb street racing game and the UMd has 2.5 update, and you cant play the game without updating, forget that. My son put the game back in and starts the game/update. I run over and try to cancel, but I cant, so I remove the game, then the battery. Now when I turn it on the green light stays on for about 10 seconds then shuts off, the screen dosen't even turn on and the UMD does not load or make any noise. If anyone has any info on resolving this issue please help me, if it is bricked beyond the point of repair someone tell me. Thank You.

i think, in your case, its over. Sorry, but what ive read in other posts, you can do nothing with your psp now, but, i could be wrong ( chance being very small )

My cousins wouldnt turn on aswell he just sent it to sony and they fixed it for free.

yeah, i forgot that, you could send it to sony. but i would advise you not to tell them you took out the umd / battery while updating.

If you interupt a firmware flash in anyway then its game over my friend. You best chance is to send it to sony. Most likely though it will come back with an updated firmware any way! Sorry to here it bro

say u upgraded and the psp reset after and wouldnt turn bak on , and they willl fix it for free but u will get a 2.6 bak

Sounds cool though, 2.7! i thought they were gonna go straight to 3.0..

v2.7 is out today. Homebrew is a no go, cheat device doesnt work, flash is crap. Apparently its just a temporary test thing by Sony to see how the hackers hack or something?
Sony should allow homebrew, its not exactly having an effect on their sales :/

Thanx all y'all for ya help. Sony said I'm out of
factory warranty since I bought it the day it came
out in March of last year and that they'll give me
a refurbished PSP, for my PSP and $90.00.
I think I'm going to pull the old switcharoo
and buy a new one and switch it. I opened mine and
I found out that you can take the gray/silver strip
that has the serial # around the sides of the psp off
with no problem. The only one I'm worried about is the
serial # on the battery section and the broken seal.
I hope the store only checks the bottom serial, if not
I have a PSP and PSP Parts. Good lookin' out y'all thanx
for the help.
