Hello. I have a PS2model 50001. Now im getting the dreaded disk read error. I notice this start after I attempted to load a game to my hard drive. The game had scratches on it, so the PS2 had a bit of time trying to rip the game to the hard drive. I tried to realign the laser. This model has two white wheels to turn. I tried dropping the bars to the bottom and then try a few clicks at a time to raise the agle of the lens but no cigar. I tried cleaning the lens with alcohol and made sure there were no fibers left. I think it can be fixed though. I really dont want to have to buy another because I have a modchip installed on it and finding the same model will be a pain :( Anyone else out there can provide some advise would be helpful.

worst case you can just get a new laser installed,
but that will run you about $50 for a laser and however much for the install and shipping if you have to send it out.
