Ok im thinking about modding my x-box with a chip. I open'd my x-box and i have version 1.6.
QUESTIONS-
-Whats the best, easyest, and most recremended mod chip?

-How do I transfor mods onto the chip? (same way to transfor mods on a softmodded x-box?)

-Could I ship my x-box out and someone install it for me?

-If I play on x-box live what can they do? Can they ban the cip or not?

-If you can give me a walk threw on installing the chip and being able to go onto x-box live once I get the chip, send me a Privte Message.

Thanks,
Fossy

I would recommend the XENIUM GOLD SP SOLDERLESS for you, its an easy install (as no soldering is involved) this chip is compatible with ALL xbox versions v1.0-v1.6B. Once you have your xbox opened up and all the required tools(IE a screw driver) it would take about about 5 mins to align the chip and sucessfully install it.

However with solderless chips there is always a risk they will come un-aligned when you move the xbox around... So it is recommended you solder in your chip, if you are un able to solder your chip yourself then google 'xbox mod installations'

Transfering BIOS files to the modchip and dashboard and other files can be done a few different ways. The fastest and easiest way is to transfer it over a network, plug your xbox into your router and transfer it over. If you do not have a router plug a cross over cable (same as a MS system link cable) into your network card on your PC and you will be good to go.

You can also burn the BIOS and dashboards etc to a DVD-R and load it that way..

http://www.xbox-modchips.com/tutorials.html has an ample amount of tutorials on how to install a variety of popular xbox modchips.

If you have any questions dont hesitate to PM me.

Its quite popular of a chip, but its not the latest most advanced chip.

Either the SmartXX V3 or the XENIUM GOLD are the latest most advanced chips on the market.

They are both 5th generation xbox mods where the X3 is 4th gen. The X3 has not been updated in 8 - 9 months...

Xenium, Xecuter and SmartXX are the three most advanced chips in the xbox mod market. Sure there is alot more out there, but the features of these other 'cheap mods' do not compare to that of the three mentioned above. The support for the 'cheap mods' is far less advanced then the support of the 3 Major Xbox mod makers.

I suggest reading up on each of the 3 and making your choice from there...

Yes some of those chips have larger BIOS capacities then others.

The Xenium GOLD and the Xecuter3 have a 2mb Bios capacity

The SmartXX v4 has a 4MB Bios capacity.

But due keep in mind this is only useful if you are flashing multiple bios's to your chip, most people only use one bios. The average size of a bios file is 512kb

What version is the xbox your wanting to install this into?

Then I would recommend depending on how much you want to spend the 2 following chips:

SmartXX LT OPX SE 2mB + v1.6 SmartXX SPIDER ADAPTER only ~$38

or

SmartXX v3 + v1.6 SmartXX SPIDER ADAPTER at ~$58

The LT OPX is just a setup down from the SmartXX V3, it has plenty of BIOS capacity (2MB) and has its own OS.. And it saves you some cash :)

But if cash isnt a concern go for the BEST chip the SmartXX V3 + v1.6 adapter.

Again it all depends on how much you are willing to spend, i got my duox 2 for 15$ (now 10$) at www.divineo.com works great with my 1.6.

well if you ordered a solderless chip there is a REALLY low chance you would screw anything up :)
