I have beev using dvd shrink now ist telling me that it can't open a aspi device,can anyone help

If you got something like this:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to initialize ASPI device
The specified module could not be found.
When you open a DVD in DVD Shrink you end up with the error code.

OR

DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue this operation.
failed to read from the ASPI device
The reason is: Unknown.

Possible solution to both situations:

Install an ASPI - if you have them installed already - they are most certainly corrupted.

For a guide on how to download and install an ASPI you could use this one from afterdawn.com.

If the above don't work - try to drop the WNASPI.DLL from Nero in your C:\windows\system or C:\system32 folder. You can get the nero aspi driver from the link provided above or the link below.
