I just got my ps2 to run swap magic and boot backup and burned games, but theres a problem. The games are in black and white, the lower 1/4th runs off the bottom of the screen, and it is distorted in the lower right corner... any idea whats going wrong?
could be the brand and speed media you used as far as the choppy game.
black and white usually means that you got a game that is from a different region, try setting the screen mode on the main screen of Swap Magic. It is set to normal by default but has both PAL & NTSC as well.
If you are in the US set it to PAL and see if it plays in color.
But try them both anyway.
alright, I got a question, when trying to play PAL games, do I have to convert it to NTSC using the PALtoNTSC Patcher or could I just use swap magic and change the option to PAL and play it on my NTSC PS2?
Yes, you can.
But just so you know there will be a little screen cut off when using Swap Magic because of the screen rate difference between PAL & NTSC.
In some games it will not effect much, in others there is something there like ammo or health and you just will not even see it.
Some conversion programs have what is called a Y-Fix. This may help straiten that out but i have never used one myself as i have a modchip and it retty much plays everything and can fix the screen with settings on the chip
