Hey all,

I'm still relatively new at this but I've been having some good success of late. I've noticed of late that all of my backups I've made myself (using I'mToo DVD Ripper Platinum) are 100% working fine, never a problem. Ones I've downloaded seem to be fine for about an hour and then the video just gets lost (blotchy, weird, etc.) It eventually comes back after 4-6 seconds but once it starts it's happening until the end of the show.

Any ideas?

Also, I've read a lot about use good discs (particularly Verbatim and Taiyo?). What about Memorex? I know they are cheap but htey seem to be working on my own backups?

Thoughts?

TIA

Today is the greatest day I've ever known....

I would say that if you are using memorex discs then you need to look no further for the cause of your problem. They would rate as possibly the worst disc you could purchase. I would recommend using Verbatim or Sony that are made in japan.

Heres a little light reading about memorex

Sorry, I guess I had a mental meltdown. I am actually using Maxell DVD+R's in my burning. I thought I'd run a few tests using Nero CD-DVD Drive Speed as the other posts showed, but when I go to the Disc Quality tab the Start key is grayed out. I go into options and come right back out and then it is lit.

However, when I hit start, the system pauses a second and then errors saying it failed to initialize the test.

Shot is below:

Anyone?
