WIFI Problems...

Now I just got a PSP and a WiFi Max but I'm totally screwed up right now I have no idea what I'm doing. The PSP is all set up and everything and I know how to use that (and I know about network connection and everything because I got onto the internet through my friends wireless router when I was at his house) but the WiFi Max is the major problem. I installed the program for the WiFi Max but when I plug in the WiFi Max and it looks for a connection, I click repair for the connection but it doesn't repair it just keeps saying unable to repair or unable to connect. It's getting frustrating now because I have tried to look around for help but I'm totally lost with this thing. I thought it was supposed to be simple and easy like the damn package said.
