Does anyone make dvd+r dual layer disks in lightscribe format?

I see the dvd 5 disks all the time in lightscribe format, but not the dvd 9 format.

Thanks for your response.

No DL LightScribe discs .. yet. In fact, I haven't seen -R LightScribe discs yet but the sites that they're listed at give me the impression that we'll be seeing them really soon

I recently asked this question to a Verbatim rep,

Problem is 2 fold,

Lightscribe technology has not kicked off the way it should

AND

Dual Layers discs in general make up maybe 10-15% of their revenue

So they feel it would be a huge loss in revenue

That's really surprising. I think the lightscribe thing is killer! No ink cartridges to replace, no drying time, etc. Wonder why more people aren't going for it?

MS Windows XP MCE SP2, Intel P4 3.20 GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX5600, Seagate 7200 rpm 200GB HDD, Sony SDMHS93 19" LCD, Field Value

Either people are not truly aware of it or many just don't like the monochromatic coloration......

I collect Old Time Radio shows, convert them to mp3 and burn them onto CDs & DVDs .. the LightScribe label gives the discs an authentic old fashioned look that a full color label just doesn't have

Awesome

Hopefully, they will soon develop a LS disk that will be written in color! Then perhaps the sales of LS burners will take off.

I can't understand why anyone who is in the market for a dvd burner would not grab up the HP 740 DVD Writer. You can purchase it at Wal-Mart (internal drive) for $80. An external drive is $125. It works great, and is as inexpensive as a non lightscribe drive.

Have a great weekend,
Ed

The reason is that you can get better drives .. like the BenQ DW1655 on line for $50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827101008
And yes, the HP is a good drive (I know, I have one) but the BenQ is an excellent drive (I have several BenQ drives)
