Which is better picture quality Recode or Shrink? I would have the high quality options checked on either of the programs for the best picture.

I believe both were made by the same person. Shrink will never be updated again though. I personally use Recode over Shrink now. Never had a problem with either one but for my tastes Recode is a better product.

I believe that Recode2 has slightly better picture quality than Shrink 3.2 ... but, I think that it's largely subjective

What I do know for sure is that Recode is faster than Shrink, but I still use Shrink to do editing of Tv programs (out of habit more than anything else) even though Recode will edit also ...

It's nice to have both just to keep things interesting

No it doesn't .. but since I have AnyDVD it really doesn't matter to me

we are speaking about my two favorite softwares, i lately use shrink because, in my opinion, the produce they produce the same picture quality. Recode2 is faster thuogh.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.
