MY PSP IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PSP'S

1. MY PSP HAS 4 DIFFERENT BRIGHTNESS SHADES, RATHER THAN 3
2. MY PSP DOES NOT HAVE THE INTERNET LINK BESIDE THE GAME LINK
3. MY PSP IS NOT LETTING ME CHANGE THE BACKGROUND

MY PSP IS THE JAPANESE ONE. I THINK IT MIGHT NEED AN UPDATE, I DONT KNOW

HOW DO I GO TO THE INTERNET?????

Ok.

1. As KaosX mentioned you have 4 different brightness shades if your PSP is plugged into the AC adapter.
2. This is because you have a firmware older than 2.00 . First check what firmware you have, by going to Settings-->System Settings-->System Information. If you have FW1.51 or 1.52 then upgrade to 2.00 (you can do this by downloading the update from here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/6 (JP) then putting it in the PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder. Then just go to GAME-->Memory Stick and select the update.). If you have firmware 1.5 you may not want to upgrade as you can play more homebrew (and ISOs off your memory stick).
3. You can't change the background in firmware 1.52 or lower, you can if you upgrade to 2.00

Remember, consider carefully before upgrading, firmware 1.5 can do alot of things that the later firmwares can not. If you want to upgrade past 2.00, and you have a firmware 1.5 PSP,then you might want to sell it for a good price(as it is rare) and buy a new one.
