Games wont load anymore! HELP PLS!

I've been search these threads for hours trying to fix my PS2, but i just got my v12 fliptop for my PStwo (slim one) and installed it. It worked for awhile then it stopped reading my PS2 original games and magic disc swap. I tried cleaning the lens with a disc and it loaded that and cleaned it and i untighten the screws under the cover, but now it will load up a PS2 game but wont play it. It sees the game under Browse (where u see ur memory cards etc.) but when i click on it to load it just fades to black like its going to play but it goes back to the browse screen... Any help will be appriciated!

It's definetly the laser. Chances are it's dead. You will probably have to get the diode replaced if not the whole unit, but I doubt it. Diode only.

No you don't. You never replied to the questions I asked in this thread you made -> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/334878/2018769-219624

So you went out and bought a new laser. I asked you if it was just backups and/or originals. If it were backups, then all you would have to have done, was change the media brand. Which I have made a guide on in the link in my signature "Games stuttering and skipping or just not booting up at all?" which I told you to go and look at!

Lose the caps also.

oh this is the old thread. well ya it hangs original DVD games. I dont know how to change the diode.

Get a local store to do it for you then. You will have to make sure it is the correct one for the motherboard/laser unit you have, and it is handled correctly. That is why you should get someone who specialises in fixing these consoles.
