Safe to downgrade PSP V2.00 to V1.5?

I might be purchasing my psp v2.00 very soon as i had made an order. But need to know if it is 100% safe to downgrade to V1.5 in order to play ISO? Also USB cable is not included in the package from what i know so where can i aquire this cable for downgrading and other purposes?

You can get a USB cable from all major computer stores. Remember to get one that has a mini USB connector on one end and the large connecter on the other end.

I have downgraded, and it is perfectly safe (as long as you download the program from a trusted source). There's a tutorial here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/psp-downgrade.php

Yeah I downgraded mine and my brothers, both worked fine, got a different error message on mine but its a jap model so I expected something to be different.

Oh yeah i need to enquire euro or jap sets to downgrade is the same or different? Does it matter where they originated from?

Well I used the guide on here for both euro and jap so I would say it doesn't matter.
