Okay i made my frist backup of a iso using alcohol 120% with the write speed setting at max onto a dvd+R. I tried it out and everything seems to be fine. Now i have been scanning through fourms and noticing people saying you should only use dvd-R and burn at a low speed, i was wondering does this actually make a difference? Or am i in route to destroying my xbox laser? Also whats with all this talk about .xiso type of files and such?

Xbox isn't exactly known for loving +R unless it's bitset. Most people do recommend -R because of this. Not to say it won't work, it just doesn't work for everybody. Won't destroy your laser either.
Xiso is an ISO in xbox format. When you copy a disc and create a new ISO with Qwix or something you are creating an xiso. Also, games that are downloaded are in xiso format.
