So I just have this problem where I can't access my router. I don't remember clearly when it started, maybe a week ago when my P2P connections couldn't map the ports that I specified prior. I just thought it was a temporary thing, so I paid it no attention. After awhile I thought I might check the router config to see if I must've disable something but then I found out I can't access it. Going to 192.168.1.1 and logging in leads me to a blank page in Firefox and an error page in IE. I tried disabling and repairing the connection but still I can't fix it. I can still acess the router config with other computers in the house, but just not the main one that I'm using. And even though I restore the router config, reset it, and remapped the ports, I still can't get my P2P apps to properly map the ports, and I still can't access the router config with the main computer. Does anybody have a clue on why this happen and how to fix it?

Go to Start, Run and type in cmd or command.

In the DOS window, type in ipconfig

You should get something like this:

IP Address...........192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask..........255.255.255.0
Default Gateway......192.168.1.1

Whatever your Default Gateway is, should be what you need to get into the router. When I flashed my router, it lost all of it's data, and reverted to an IP I didn't even know about. This is how I got back in.

hey thanks for the suggestion. I did that and my default gateway is still 192.168.1.1, the thing is it isn't that I can't get there, it's when I log in that I see a blank page on FireFox or an error page in IE.

If it's a wired connection, you need to remove the connection (from "network/local connections"), reboot, and let it reinstall itself.

If it's wireless, you need to completely uninstall the application, reboot, and reinstall.

It happens.

Pay special attention to the subnet mask. Make sure all computers have 255.255.255.0
I lost my network and my router changed the subnet mask for no apparent reason, even though the router config indicated the correct subnet mask. You could try ipconfig /release and then type in ipconfig /renew at the command prompt. Do this on every computer.
The main computer not being able to access the router sounds like it could be a dns error. Make sure the settings are correct in your browser and the subnet mask matches all computers on the network.

Since other PCs can access it, the problem seems to be with the one PC, not the router, and even that one PC can access it, just gets a blank page after login. I would check things like firewall settings and browser security settings since it appears that your TCP/IP is working properly and you are making the connection, something else is preventing the page from being displayed. Temporarily turn off the PC firewall and set the Brower Security lower and see if you can log on then.
