problems with sony DVD DRU 500AX

I use decrypter/dvd2one/nero for my copies but when they playback in several dvd players they freeze for a while and some times they even freeze for good!i tried several diferent brands for dvd-r but i end up to the same thing!I notised though that when my copies are played back the players get hot and you can also hear the laser doing some noise while reading them!Any help?

what speed did you burn them with? i find when i burn at 4x or even sometimes at 2x my dvd player freezes sometimes, so i burn everything on 1x now.
