Is there any way to do this using XMC and a crossover cable? If so, how?

if you have your xbox modded with xbox media center and have a network set-up on your computer along with internet sharing then yes it is very easy just go to network and SMB share that will connect you to your computer then you just play the song...

note: make sure the folders on your pc are shared on the network. You can also add links in XBMC under my music that go straight into the folder on your PC by editing the xbmc.xml file. Iv added shortcuts to allow music to run directly from my PC dvd rom drive and same with movies. All is pretty easy 2 do. If you wanna know more and get some hints, pm me.
