I used Decrypter to write DVD onto harddrive.

When tried to write to blank Dvd I get the error message
Failed to read from file Million_Dollar_Baby iso.

Reason: Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

If I use DVD Shrink and use DVD Decrypter to burn to Dvd. After
Shrink Decrypter opens and I get the message
DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) Failed
Device [0.1.0]_NEC DVD_RW ND-3530A 1.80 (E:) (ATA)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access.
Reason:Access is denied.

The DVD is a copy of Million Dollar Baby that I already made with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter.

Hope you can help.

Thanks.

This can be a sign of bad media. What type are you using?

A CRC error is typically caused by a dirty, smudged, or scratched disk, you may also have a bad press.

The other possibility is copy protection that shrink can't handle, this is what I believe to be the case since DVD decrypter ripped it to your HDD as stated here;

You then tried to open the ISO file created by DVD decrypter using DVD shrink and got an error;

DVDShrink alone wont be able to backup your movie, so this is what you do:

Instead of using DVD decrypter, re-rip the movie files to the HDD using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter, once done open the files with DVDShrink (use the open files option and browse to the VIDEO_TS folder, highlight it and click ok), at this point use shrink as you normally would.

Get dvdfab Decrypter here:
http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

If shrink gives you a problem when trying to open the files created by DVDFab, you'll need to process the files thru VobBlanker first then open the files created by VobBlanker with shrink as described.

Get VobBlanker here:

Or you could have ripped using DVDDecrypter in File Mode and then use Shrink. Don't make an ISO!

if this is a copy of a copy just use a program to copy the disk directly! There are no encryptions so use programs like Nero, CopytoDVD, MyDVD and I'm sure there are many more! why even go thru Shrink again?

Also what disk did you use? What media.... I know the CRC errors are from disks that are scratched, finger prints or just bad disks that are not of good quality. But you said that DVDDecrypter made an ISO soooo try it in File Mode.

@IHoe

Chances are that it won't make any difference whether you have DVD Decrypter create a file folder or an image file, shrink will more than likely still produce a "Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)" when trying to open the files. DVD Decrypter isn't able to properly decrypt the DVD, the latest version DVDFab will.

if this is a copy of a copy...... that means there are no encryptions on the DVD already and DVDD should do the job unless there is a problem with the disk itself! that's why a CRC problem would arise. If DVDD was set to ignor reading errors then it would cause the problem with the ripped files or ISO! Having DVDFab Decrypter is fine if the Copy had encryptions on it! but.....

so no encryptions for DVDFab Decrypter to decrypt!!! soooooo in conclusion DVDDecrypter should rip the copy just fine unless that copy is on bad media, scratched or finger printed that causes reading errors! That's all I'm saying..... you can make a copy of a copy without DVDD or DVDFab Decrypter, or Shrink because it's already on a DVD-5 and use programs like Nero, CopyToDVd, MyDVD and many others unless there is a problem with the already copied DVD!

And I hope this doesn't offend anyone cause sometimes I come out too strong.... just my 2 cents... no change needed back!

No offense taken, dude.

I completely over looked:
The DVD is a copy of Million Dollar Baby that I already made with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter

necromo,
If your trying to make a copy of a copy and are having problems doing it, this is how I get it done without ever having a problem.

How to Make a Copy of a Copy Using Nero

You successfully backed up a DVD, do you need to use DVD Shrink again to copy the already copied DVD? Nope, Nero allows you to make a identical copy of the already decrypted copied DVD. Insert the DVD your trying to make a copy of in your DVD-ROM +/-R /RW drive and let it be recognized.

1. Run the nero burning rom application from the smart start menu under application. The wizard screen should pop up on top of the main Nero screen. On the left hand side, you may need to tell Nero if your making a "CD" or a "DVD" copy. Of course you would be making a "DVD" copy, so simply click the down arrow and select "DVD" as your choice. (Illustrated in the screen shot with the red arrow.) Screen Shot Below:

2. After you have selected "DVD" as your preferred compilation type, now click the "DVD Copy" icon. (Illustrated by the blue arrow.) Screen Shot Below:

3. Now for configuring the tabs at the top. There should be 4 tabs at the top. "Image", "Copy Options", "Read Options", and "Burn". I will take screen shots for some of the tabs instead of explaining each one completely.

4. The first tab, is the "Image" tab. See Nero makes a image of the burning process and what files are attached to it. Then you simply load that image into Nero and burn it. (Nero does it automatically if you are using "DVD Copy" compilation.) On the "Image" tab, the first box is the "image file" box. This is where you want Nero to save your "Image". ( I always save my image to the desktop, cause I delete it right after I burn the copy of the copy.) Click the "Browse" button to the right of that box, to choose the destination for the image. (Whether it be on your desktop, in your "My Documents"folder, where ever.)

5. Below that box is box to put a check mark in if you want Nero to automatically delete the image after it has successfully burned the image to disk.

6. The "Hard drive speed info" is next on that tab. I don't know what it is, so I don't even bother messing/changing it.

7. The next tab is the "Copy Options" tab. Here you can select how you want Nero to copy. Although burning with the "On the fly" option is faster, it is not recommended. Next option to change on the "Copy Options" tab is selecting your source drive. (The drive with the original copy.) Then under that is the "Read Speed:". You can select what you want here. I have mine set at "3x (4,155 KB/s)" to eliminate possible read errors from reading to fast.

8. The next tab is "Read Options". (Just going to post a screen shot of mine) Screen Shot Below:

9. The next tab is the "Burn" tab. (Again I'm just going to post a screen shot of mine.) Screen Shot Below:

10. Instead of maximum, set the write speed to 4x, 6x, or 8x (try to set it at no greater than 1/2 the rated speed of the media), click burn and your done!

Note: If you have only one combo drive, nero will prompt you for blank media when it finishes caching the image before the actual burning process can begin.
