OK here's the deal... I've read another thread discussing DMS4 Vs. Matrix Infinity. How about the Crystal chip Lite 1.1? Reason I'm asking this is I sent a query to a mod chip installer about installing the Matrix Infinity for me, and he said "Are you sure you want that? The crystal chip has more features."
So I'm having a difficult time deciding!
Any input from users of any of the above chips would be greatly appreciated!
I like you, have had a diffucult time deciding over the past week or two, but have decided to go with DMS4 SE Chip, which I will be getting done on wednesday :)
I spent 3 weeks researching the chips before I settled on the DMS4 Pro SE. The only "advantage" to the Crystal is that you can play online without having to modigy the image (which isn't hard at all) so it's not a real choice. Which leaves you with the Matrix and the DMS4. The Matrix is more stable but the DMS4 has better firmware upgrade features and if you get the Pro version, you can do a LOT more with the ToxicOS (see below).

Saying that, I actually got hte Matrix Infinity chip installed in the end, got it back today and its working a treat, only thing that hasnt worked is Smackdown VS RAW 2006, but thats cos it needs rebuildin so at the moment very pleased :)
no, with a chip you do not need to rebuild games.
I have Smackdown VS Raw in both the NTSC & PAL versions and both worked fine. It could be a problem with the media you use or something.
I hope you picked a good reputable shop. I have heard quite a few people lately complaining about their chips. Problem is that they could charge you for a Matrix Infinity and install some cheap clone chip. You would never know the difference unless you can open the PS2 and actually look at the chip itself, then compare it to Matrix chips. Then when you update the firmware it will just stop working as it can not be upgraded from what it is right now.
But a real Matrix Infinity chip is a real good one.
I personally went with a DMS4 Pro, in case i ever want to install a hard drive it has much more in the ToxicOS that will make that easy, plus other features that other chips do not like a built in cheat device.
if you have Nero rebuilding an ISO and replacing the dummy file will be a snap
if you have a chip you should not have to rebuild any games except DVD9 if the chipo can not play them.
