If you are dealing with high levels of compression in DVD Shrink you may need to use Deep Analysis and the AEC controls to smooth out your image that can freeze, stutter, pause and pixellate from compression. Use these if your compression ratio is less than 70%, also don't burn at more than 4X, use quality media and set your target size to 4300 to avoid the outer edge of the disc.

In order to free up some room on your backup and reduce your compression ratio, remove all audio except AC3 5.1 and any or all subtitles you do not need. Another suggestion is to backup the main movie only via reauthor mode.

What brand/type of media are you writing to? You might also try checking that your firmware is up-to-date for your burner, if LOCOENG's suggestions don't help!

MS Windows XP MCE SP2, Intel P4 3.20 GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX5600, Seagate 7200 rpm 200GB HDD, Sony SDMHS93 19" LCD, Field Value
Audio Adapter Creative SB0317 Audigy LS Sound Card, Liteon models,SHM-165H6S, 167to6c, All burns exclusively on genuine Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim media!

encoding transfer rate is really slow now compared to what it used to be. Im getting 688kb/s and time remaining is 2hrs and 30 mins. on shrink 3.2. Is there any way to make my transfer rate faster? it seems to get slower and slower.

Still did not work, seems like my kb/s just keeps on getting slower and slower the moment I start the encoding. Any other suggestions?
