I recently got tv episodes off the internet that were avi, I changed them to tmp2 with tmmpgenc so they can be burned on to a dvd only all of them combined are more than 5 gigs. Does anyone know how I can make them fit?

I'd run it thru DVD Architect and select 4.3Gb output filesize.
Can even make it .VOB .IFO .BUP if you want : )-

Just an alternative method to others you'll probably hear

It's not tmpg2...just mpg2 (or mpeg2).

.VOB .IFO .BUP are files that a DVD is made up of.

Both are DVD compliant though : )

(ie: they will both after placing onto a DVD-R play in your stand alone player)

It would depend , so I have no answer to that question

In answer to your original post: Why did you not set the output size to 4.3Gb ?

Well in the process that you obviously followed to get a 5 Gb file.
There would have been an option like a green bar, turning red at the end cos your file exceeded 4.3Gb DVD-R blank media capacity.
You didnt take the option to turn down the bit-rate so as to squeeze it all on one disc (which is your intent)

I'd suggest you read a TMPGEnc guide as I usually rip/author/burn .VOB.BUP.IFO DVD's.
If I do mpg I usually use DVD Architect (as I still have audio which TMPGEnc leaves behind as & when it wants)
