How do I do it so my PS2 will pick up my Internet Connection Sharing?

I did almost everything and yet the LAN icon in my Network Connections will still say "Network Cable Unplugged."

Anyone wanna give me step-by-step of how they got it to work?

Basically I have a PC next to my TV + PS2 that picks up my router signal from upstairs. I have an open ethernet port to plug my straight through <---> RJ45CAT5 cable to from my PS2.

All i want to do is play is some hockey online

Would the cable not being cross-over matter? The cable I'm testing with works for sure because it's used to plug the router into the ethernet port of my other computer.

However, I tried connecting the PS2 upstairs direct to a Motorola Cable Modem, and I get as far as the DNAS authentication then it says it can't get the DNS address or something. My PS2 is V12, using the Online Startup Disc V3.0

U might have to check your internet settings on your PS2 to make sure that the connection is corret like that proxy junk and password on router

Wrong cable, you need a crossover cable to connect your PS2 to your PC. As far as the problem directly connecting to your cable modem, make sure your PS2 network adapter is configured for DHCP (IP and DNS) and you should be fine.
