I am having trouble with lip syncing. I am using VSO DIXVtoDVD & ImToo avi to dvd to convert my .avi files to dvd format for burning but once the files have converted the lip sync is out. The original .avi file plays fine through windows media player but the converted file when played through windows or a dvd player has lip sync problems. My usual process is a follows:-

Convert with VSO or Imtoo avi, then put the files into DVD Shrink and run thro there to link the files together then set the software to burn with nero. Help, I cant sort it out, ive read the FAQs section but to no avail. Thanx.

You need a program that will decompress the audio before you try converting. I use SUPER to create a new AVI file with WAV audio but I've also used a program called Decompress that works just as well.

I cannot find the software decompress, can u give me a link plz? and is the other one calleed Super avi/vcd/dvd convertor?

You can import AVI into TMPGEnc and it will output a video+audio file.
On the third screen of the Wizard you can select 'Source Range" which lets you adjust the audio.E.G if the audio leads the video you can insert a negative value to bring it back into sync.

The resulting file is then imported into TMPGEnc DVD Author and processed into VOB files which you can save or burn as required.
I have used these programmes to convert PAL DVD to NTSC where the audio was out of sync after conversion.
I generally use a very small part of the video (to the final stage) so I can check that the sync is o.k as I don't want to keep messing with two hours of video.
Before burning I import the final product into DVDshrink to verify that everything is good.

You can fix the Audio Sync Problem with the same VSO ConvertXtoDVD software...!

It is very easy. Most of the time you get the audio sync problem only from the frist file (if the movie is splitted into 2 avi). Even though it is only one AVI you can follow the same solution.

1. Open your AVI files from ConvertXtoDVD.
2. After your normal setup.., just run the 'Convert'. Just after 0.2% or 0.3% of convertion, you will see a yellow backgrounded line on the bottom of ConvertX software. Stop the convertion. Make a note of the number on the yellow background (Ex: 2.532 secs). Now expand the tree view of the AVI file on the top. You will see 'audio' on the bottom. Expand that too..! Double click (a bit slow) and a textbox will appear there. All you have to do is just type 2532 (If the yellow bordered shows 2.532)... Simply just remove the "." and type the number. And convert it again.

For me it works 100%...! No failure until now... after I figured this way out..!
