I just got a Matrix Infinity HOMEBREW for my v9 ps2. I soldered it and that went fine. However, now I have some problems.
First thing I noticed was that the POWER or RESET button doesn't work. I turn on the ps2 by pushing the EJECT button. I turn it off by flipping the switch on the back.
Second thing is that it won't read backups. It keeps saying "please insert a plasystation 2 disc". But then, when I put the Matrix Infinity upgrade CD, it ran it just fine. It also works perfectly with original DVD's and games. When I put in a copied Region 1 NTSC DVD it says: "TV system doesn't match" What the hell is that?
I've browsed through forums and the only thing that I've found is that perhaps the laser needs to be calibrated....could that be it? I don't know. You guys tell me :)
Thanks, but I cannot get to the chips menu. First of all, I do not even know if the chip is working. When I turn on the ps2, it boots up normally. No special logos or anything. When I press the button combination to get to the menu (Triangle + Circle), nothing happens. But when I load an original game, it gives me 10-15 seconds of black screen before it boots.
Then the chip isn't working.
Check to see if you didn't solder 2 legs together, or if there's solder on parts that shouldn't have any.
Make sure everything is soldered in the right place, and properly soldered.
