hi, i need a lid position switch because mine got broke. It will come to the GameCube base screen but won't spin the disks. Could someone help me if they have a switch that I could have?

either tape the switch down, or go out and buy a normally closed push button from radioshack... if you choose to buy the NCPB, the lid will always be 'closed' even if you have it physically open... pushing the button will tell the GC that the lid is open, so if you have to switch discs, you still can...

You know, I broke my lid too. I soldered some wires to the underside of it to set it to the "always closed" position. Here's some pics

I know I could have done that easier but at the time I did that I was tired and just wanted to play my damn machine, not think! lol. It should give you the basic idea though. Since then I've actually desoldered those wires and installed a switch.

yea that will work also, the only problem with that though, is if you need to switch discs for some reason... 2 disc game, change games at the GC menu, etc... no biggie really, but hey, it gets the job done...

Yep, you're right, that's why I ended up adding a switch. It worked pretty well as a quick fix until I got a new switch though. :)

I figured that this would probably work but I didnt want to do anything stupid so i ruled it out. Thanks now that I know where to solder i will do it this way. Thanks again.
