Need help with getting MS dashboard back

I was wondering how to get the DS back, what files or ftp i need and what file do i put it in, or what games have a dashboard update or backup on them (from softmod it got deleted.)Maybe a pic tut will help. Thnx

Grab an auto installer disc like AID 3.0 from www.xbox-hq.com or SLAYERS 2.6 + and you can install the MS Dash from there.

also try talking to TheReturn he is a member here at aD and i think in one of his posts he said he could e-mail people the dashboard who deleted it but im not sure, just talk to him
EDIT - if you have unleash X then use auto installer deluxe but if you have evox use slayer disk

um i also have the same problem but i cant ftp or hotswap my drive anymore. is there any onthere way besides buying a new one or sending it to microsoft

I think a lot of you guys are just too busy trying to re-invent the wheel. The solution is very easy here, get yourself a Spider chip v1.1 its about $20. Don't go paying $90 for a chip and a adapter that you really do not need! Don't listen to others saying that the chip is no good; it has its useful purposes and this is one of them disaster recovery. I don't recommend the Spider chip as a leave in chip because it sits funny on the motherboard and is therefore not stable, sometimes if you move your Xbox, the chip moves too. You would then need to go back into your Xbox to make adjustments, too much of a hassle. Install the chip, then with the chip installed which is very easy just 1 wire with version 1.0-1.5 version Xboxes and 6 wires with a 1.6. Turn on your Xbox. It will bring you to its initial install screen, from there you simply input a Slayer's or AID v3.0 disc then re-install your MS dash or setup the network and FTP into your Xbox then install the folders from an ISO that I have created. Which are the folders to create a perfectly working softmodded Xbox. It doesn't get any easier than that.

ummmm can you do the same exact thing with a xenium chip because i want a chip i can keep in my xbox because i was looking at a chip like this before i even got those files deleted and what not can i do it like tht or is the only way with a spider

but like i cant ftp or anything and like can i just boot it up with a xenium modchip and boot the cd when it comes up automaticlly to restore it or do when it comes up use the ftp server on the chips menu

If you have xenium, just download AID and burn it to DVD-R. YOu can do everything AID disk. LIke to upgrade hdd, to install dashboard and apps, etc..
You can also ftp from Xenium OS.

thx the return tht helps i kinda had to prove my step dad wrong on this cause he said it would be better just to bye a new box but i was like no because all my old files are still on the hard drive so yea

So lemme get this straight, your MS dashboard is gone and you can still boot the hacked dashboard, or both dashboards are gone and you can only boot games, Im a little confused.

If you have a Xenium chip, its almost impossible to mess it up. If you ever at any point backed up, all you need to do is press the power and eject buttons at the same time and it will reset.
