Magic 3.1 Wire Problems

I am attempting to install a magic chip in my v5 PS2. The problem is the wire I am trying to use is weak and breaks off after I solder it. I am using 26 guage stranded wire. At least this is what I think is happening. I am not having a problem soldering it but when I move on to the next point the wire snaps off and leaves little pieces of itself stuck to the solder point. I have ordered 30 guage kynar wire, are the problems I am having bad soldering skills or is it because the wire I am using sucks? When I use kynar will the difference and ease of installation be night and day? Thanks for any help.

sounds like bad sldering points because the wire should not just break off even if it is thin....make sure your putting flux paste on the solder point and keep the soldering iron cleaned and tinned....

what i mean is that the wire itself breaks, the tip of the wire stays connected to the point. Is Kynar wire stranded or one whole piece?

sounds like bad wire issue to me. Kynar wire is not stranded and should work no problem.
