In some cases better,if you use good media, especially media like, Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Sony or Fugi made in Japan. You don't want to burn faster than 50% of your rated speed of disc. I usually just burn at 4x and that works great. Do you have any ripping and burning programs, if not their are a couple that work great DVD Fab Decrypter to get rid of encryptions and DVDShrink to make it small enough to fit on a single disc. You can find them in my Signature. Good Luck and keep using this forum it has taught me alot. If you have an older DVD player like my upstairs unit, it might only take DVD-R.
