Hello. I am using DVD X Copy to make backups of my movies. I select my destination and start ripping. After I have finished ripping the first part of the DVD, it asks me if I want to burn it to a DVD. I select yes. However, I cant find my DVR-105 drive in the drop down box, when I try to find my drive. Why is this? What can I do to fix this problem?

May sound like a silly question, but are you able to use your burner with another burning program, if not then you should check your drivers and make sure that it is installed correctly, if you can use a burning program such as nero I believe that you can just burn those files that DVDXCopy ripped with a different software burning program. To all users: Correct me if I was wrong about the seperate burning program thing

This is an amazingly imformative site with many places to find information and help. Please support it.

Yes- I can use my burner with other burning programs, so this is not the problem. I currently use Nero. I have tried burning the files that I copied with DVD X Copy with Nero with minimal success, but I may have done something wrong. I will try it again

I use Nero and select DVD ROM UDF/ISO, under UDF tab select FORCE compatibility, Select Dates to be current dates ( got this from another forum). I let DVDXcopy do its rip, then when it asks for a DVD blank I use Nero to burn the files it creates. If you cancel the copy on DVDXcopy it will nuke the files so either leave it open while you do the burn or move the video_ts folder somewhere else before you do the cancel. I have run into a lot of problems with the current DVDXcopy burner writing ok to RWs then screwing up the -Rs. Do NOT use the Nero option in DVDXCopy, I have not gotten it to work. It gives me an error message when it gets to write then nukes the ripped files.
