Weird errors with Duo Q

Hi,

I installed a Duo Q today, brand new Gamecube I received for my 21st last Sunday.

Anyways, things are going oddly for me. I'm 95% sure everything is soldered in correctly, perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

4/5 times when I boot I get an error message, be it with an original game (double dash) or a back on FujiFilm mini DVD-Rs (Wind Waker). The DVD drive will make an odd sound and seek a bunch before and after the chip turns blue, then it will turn orange again and pop up with an error. Occasionally it will actually work properly and stay blue and boot my game, but that's 1/5 times at best.

I don't think it's my laser, however - if I disconnect the Duo Q I can boot Double Dash perfectly fine every time. Is there something I should be checking, a certain solder point that's likely loose?
