I cannot watch copied dvd's on my HP Pavilion zv6000 laptop. When I attempt to watch a copied dvd the sound and video skip sporadically. I am able to watch copied dvd's on my HP Pavilion Desktop and my home dvd player. I used DVDXCopy to backup dvd's using Sony's DVD direct drive burner. Is there a fix to this problem?

Do original commercial DVDs play OK in the laptop drive? If so, then the laptop drive just doesn't like the media you're using or the burn was of good enough quality for the standalone player and the desktop drive but not the laptop. What brand of media did you use? At what speed did you burn?

If the commercial DVDs don't play correctly, then the problem is with with the DVD drive in the laptop or some of the video/audio drivers on the laptop.
