Does it matter where you solder the ground wire? Because I want it as short as possible. This is for the duo3 chip on a v12

doesnt matter as long as its a Ground. i usually connect 2 for better grounding.

You don't get better grounding by connecting the ground to two different places... its affected by the wire gauge, length and quality of the wire you used

it is better for GND wires to be shorter and thicker than the others.

2 GND wires gives better grounding. Some chips have 2 GND (GND , GND2) points on it for that purpose.
