usb extreme help PLZ!!!!

I have had my usb extreme for about 2 months and when I copy games to the hard drive they will copy perfectly but when I try to load them the screen just turns black. Could the problem be that I have a wrong type of hard drive? My Hard drive is a Western Digital. I have tried Dragonball z Budokai 3 and tenkaichi, metal gear solid 3 snake eater, GTA San Andreas, Prince of Persia Warrior Within and The Two Thrones. If I am Using The wrong type of hard drive will someone tell me what type I need plz?

unfortunately most western digital hdd arent supported. u need to buy the official sony hdd also most maxtor and seagate hdds with large storing capacity are supported.
