there are tons of copies and versions on bit torrent sites, but IDK how you can obtain an original install disc. I think you have to be a registered tester with Microsoft or something like that. I don't think every Tom Dick and Harry can just call Microsoft and they'll just send them out a free copy.

I myself haven't played around with Vista yet, but I'm sure you can do some googling and find out what the latest version is. I don't think a serial is needed, but if there is, the file you download from the bit torrents should include the serial/crack in the download package of the software to get it working. good luck.

we're not doing anything wrong. explaining how to crack software or providing a direct link to pirated software is prohibited. simply saying that you can find a piece of software on a bit torrent site is within forum rules.

I just want to try it by using my RAM

They are full(well with what features they are allowing)installs. You would have to create your own live cd with bartcd or something simular.
There are 3rd party software issues, and for some reason my cd-rw drive would not work read only. It always wanted to prepare to write the disk, even original software disks. Then the drivers to the cd drives went bad....so I uninstalled it. I'll wait for a newer version. But it is "NICE". but resource hungry.

You can get Vista from Microsoft. Just go to their website and order the DVD. Cost is around £13 (UK), $15 (CANADA), $15 (USA), etc.
You'll have to say that you are an IT Profesional, and give your company name etc.

Well, two days ago I just downloaded the software from microsoft's website for free and i said I used the pc for personal use. They let me download it and even gave me a cd key for it. It is in iso format, plus, even though they said it would take long to download it only took me about 2-3 hours on cable modem connection.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx to download it as to get the key go to this site

Sorry everyone I had forgotten about this thread until 21Q posted. I have gotten my hands on a copy of Win. Vista (build 5384 I believe). Besides the lack of software to install on it I thought it is a good indication of were Microsoft plans to go with Windows. With this Beta I didn't see enough new features that were useful to me to make the jump to vista when it comes out. But then again it is a beta build so when and if they come out with *RC releases I will stick to Windows XP.
*For those who dont know. RC stands for Release Candidate. Its basically the closest thing to the finished product. With a RC Release the feature set is basically set in stone.
