My v7 went out and I was able to get my hands on a rarely played v10. My question is, can I use my Messiah 2 chip from the v7 in the v10?

possible, but you may want to upgrade to a newer, better chip like a DMS4 Pro, Matrix Infinity or Crystal Chip V1.1
these all have free firmware upgrades you can download that keep your chip up to date with fixes and new features about 1-2 times a year.
