Problems with my Philips DVP5100

I recently bought a Philips DVP5100 and it works perfectly, except from a problem with the picture format. Whenever I put a DVD in, it constantly flips between 4:3 and 16:9. It does it with all my DVDs. The first time it happened, I just unplugged it for 30 seconds then switched it back on and it worked fine...but it's a pain in the ass having to do that all the time.

Any ideas on how to fix it? I'm clueless.
