My dvd/cd rom works, my computer reconizes it, I can use it to burn cd's with windows media player. I recently installed easy cd creator, the program also reconizes my drive, but when I click to burn, it says: There are no supported recorders available. Make sure that your recorder is powered on and that all cables are properly connected. Why is it doing this? The same program works on other computers fine, is it because I have a Gateway with compatablity problems?

The decrypter program did its job and placed the DVD movie which I want to record in my hard drive. I cannet burn the file as a notice pops up saying that the file is too large for my blank 700M disc. Does the movie file have to be re-compressed after decrypting. How is this done?

rodents ,
Welcome to the forum. You need to compress the Files to go on a CD. Below is a guide that might help

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2svcd_guide.cfm

I also might suggest that you need to obtain a DVD burner as the quality will be alot better w/ DVD's than w/ CD's. They are priced very cheaply now.

You said you have installed "easy cd creator". What OS are you using? Easy CD Creator by Adaptec (an older program) works on Win 98 but will not work on Win XP. Roxio (took over from Adaptec) also makes versions of an Easy CD DVD Creator that are compatible with Win XP.

Need to be sure you are using the "right" program for your OS.

You could check for program updates once you are sure the Version matches your OS. What burner are you using besides your dvd/cd ROM? Have you checked for firmware updates?

Concurr with Car.Mike - what compatibility issues are you having?
