You can now use DVD Fab Decrypter for ripping:

http://www.dvdidle.com/en/free.htm

So if Decrypter doesn't work for you, just forget it.

no it came with the computer, everytime i try to burn something it says "No readers Detected"

Already updated firmware then? and DVDD still doesnt see the drive...have you tried DVDFab Decrypter yet?

Do you have Nero? Is your ASPI working? Have you burned DVD's with this drive in the past?

Edit: If you don't have Nero, download and run this tool and post the log.

Mornin ruger...that is what I'm starting to lean towards, might not even be a DVD-ROM.
